I'm Helena. Thank you for visiting my site!

My passion for designing and fabricating silver jewelry arose after a one-day workshop in 2006. I was hooked. Since then, I have studied with several artists, Sonja Ekman (Lund, Sweden), Sunette van den Berg at Novus Design Studio (Pretoria, South Africa) and Blair Anderson at SilverWorks (Bethesda, MD).

A large portion of the enjoyment of silversmithing is in the design phase. I particularly appreciate incorporating mechanisms into a design that blend in to look like design elements. Inspirations come from movement, lines, nature, time and space, mathematics... my background in chemistry has a considerable influence, as does my Swedish heritage regarding design aesthetics.

The Gallery displays a selection of my favorite pieces. Some of them I still have in my possession, whereas others have been sold or given away. Please inquire regarding any design in the Gallery that you may find interesting. The creative journey continues and new pieces will turn up in the Gallery.

You will also find me teaching workshops at SilverWorks in Glen Echo Park, Bethesda, MD, where I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion for silversmithing with others.

Take a look at the Events page to see at which upcoming shows and fairs you will find me.
